Swarms

When you want to call a Beekeeper be sure you can describe The Swarm :

When a swarm is hanging on a tree branch outside, chances are they are new arrivals and are

sending scout bees out to different locations to find a more permanent and sheltered residence.

Wait 24-72 hours; 99% of the time they’ll be gone by then.

This is a small. They usually leave the like location the scout from in 72 hours.

When a swarm is embedded in the side of a structure, with bees visible from the outside is where it gets more complicated.

The only way to really know how large the hive is, is to open up the wall and investigate unless you have a heat sensor which give you an idea of the size of the cluster

. Then a beekeepers opens up the structure to┬áremove the comb and find the queen – relocating her to a ┬áportable box so the rest of the hive will follow.

Bees emerging from a hole in the side of a structure. Hard for a beekeeper to tell the extent of the hive until they cut a portion of the wall out.
